2016年英语笔译高级翻译易错句:He lives in the country

　　在下列句子中，country均指“农村”或“乡下”解，可以和countryside互换使用。

　　He has gone to the country to recover.

　　他到乡间休养去了。

　　He is fresh from the country.

　　他刚从乡下回来。

　　We have just come back from the country.

　　我们刚从农村回来。

　　They are going down the country next week.

　　下星期他们到乡下去了。

　　关于”country”一词，有下列几点需要注意：

　　1.　在下面的短语中，country作“国家”解: all over the country; through/throughout the country; my/your/his/their country; this/that country

　　2.　country作“农村”“乡村”解，没有复数形式，前面也不能加不定冠词”a”。

　　3.　country可以用作定语。例：country songs (牧歌);country life (农村生活); country cousin (乡下佬); country road (乡间道路);country gentlemen (乡绅，乡豪); country hits (乡村流行乐曲); country fans (乡村音乐迷)。
